The European Handball Federation has secured a six-year extension to its television deal in Denmark with public-service broadcaster DR and multi-territory commercial and pay-television broadcaster Modern Times Group.
The rights relate to the EHF's premier continental club competitions the Champions League and Women's Champions League.
DR and MTG’s partnership with the EHF now runs until the end of the 2019-20 season under the new agreement, which was brokered by the federation’s marketing arm EHF Marketing and the exclusive international distributor of media rights for its leading tournaments, the MP & Silva agency.
DR1 and MTG’s commercial sports channel TV3 Sport will continue to show all the matches of Danish participants in the Champions League and Women’s Champions League.
DR will show the majority of matches with Danish participation and TV3 Sport will broadcast a “large number” of top matches between non-Danish teams.
