London 2012 Olympic Games pan-European rights-holder Eurosport will open up its 3D coverage of the event to UK pay-television broadcaster BSkyB’s dedicated 3D channel.
The deal will allow Sky to broadcast more than 100 hours of 3D Games coverage on the Sky 3D channel. Sky 3D will provide about eight hours of live coverage and four hours of highlights per day. The opening ceremony, closing ceremony and the men’s 100 metres final will be shown in 3D, as well as gymnastics, swimming, basketball and canoeing.
Sky will also make a range of 3D Olympic highlights available on Sky Anytime, the broadcaster’s video-on-demand service.
