The Formula One motor-racing championship has struck new rights deals with the Advisers Media International and Saran Media agencies covering multiple markets in Europe and Asia.
Formula One has agreed a three-season extension, running from 2018 to 2020, to its partnership with Saran Media.
Under the deal, F1 will be broadcast on the S Sport Channel in Turkey, which is currently being carried on all four of the country’s major pay-television platforms – Digiturk, DSMART, Turkcell TV+ and Turk Telekom.
The deal includes coverage of all sessions, from Friday to Sunday, with live and delayed broadcast and highlights transmitted across all television, internet and mobile platforms.
The agreement with Saran Media will also include free-to-air coverage of all 21 grands prix of the 2018 season on AZ TV and Idman Azerbaijan channels in Azerbaijan, a country which has held a race in Baku since 2016. Formula One will maintain a number of digital rights both in Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Meanwhile, the agreement with AMI, running across the same three-season window, covers 19 territories in the form of: Slovenia, Croatia, Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Bosnia, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Ukraine.
Coverage will be provided by a mix of free-to-air and pay-television broadcasters, while Formula One will maintain a number of digital rights in these territories.
