Pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports Asia has acquired rights to Extreme E, a new electric SUV off-road racing series.
The multi-year deal covers rights across Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, starting from February 2021 when the inaugural Extreme E season gets underway.
The deal comes after Fox Sports in July acquired rights for the series in the US, Canada and the Caribbean.
Extreme E will race in some of the world’s most remote and extreme locations that have been damaged by climate challenge, while seeking to raise awareness and inspire action. Last week, the series unveiled Greenland as its first race location.
The series will race across five environments – the Himalayas, Arctic, rainforest, desert and an Indian Ocean island. Races will take place over three days within an area no larger than 10 square kilometres.
