The IEC in Sports agency has been appointed by the Chinese Badminton Association, the sport’s governing body in the country, to coordinate host broadcast services and distribute the national and international media rights for the association’s Super League competition.
The deal was described as a “long-term” agreement, but the exact length was not disclosed.
IEC said it had already secured 15 broadcast partners for the league, including 12 broadcasters in China, pay-television broadcasters Astro in Malaysia and One World Sports in the US, and pan-regional pay-television broadcaster ESPN Star Sports in Asia.
The 2012 season of the Super League started following the London 2012 Olympic Games and will finish on December 8. The league comprises 16 rounds of competition in different Chinese provinces and features 12 clubs.
