Korea’s Coupang Play ‘acquires Tokyo 2020 streaming rights’

Korean ecommerce group Coupang is reported to be close to acquiring streaming rights for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in a sublicensing deal with the ‘Korea Pool’ of terrestrial broadcasters.

Korean media outlets reported that Coupang will carry coverage of the games on its video streaming service Coupang Play. The service was launched in December last year and has a small but growing portfolio of sports content, alongside films and television series.
