The Lagardère Sports agency has secured media-rights deals in various territories for the International Table Tennis Federation.
Australian pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports picked up rights to a number of key ITTF events, while the Fox Networks Group division of media company 21st Century Fox has secured rights in South Korea to various competitions.
The Fox Sports Australia deal covers 10 ITTF World Tour events, the World Tour Grand Finals, Men’s World Cup, Women’s World Cup, World Championships and World Juniors Championships.
Fox Networks Group picked up rights in Korea to all ITTF World Tour events.
Meanwhile, Lagardère Sports has secured a deal with Indonesian media company MNC Group, while pay-television operator Astro renewed a deal for rights in Brunei and Malaysia.
MNC Group will broadcast all ITTF World Tour events, the World Tour Grand Finals, Men’s World Cup, Women’s World Cup, World Championships, World Team Championships and Junior Championships.
Meanwhile, Astro will show coverage of the same events, with the exception of the World Juniors Championships
All of the deals cover pay-television, IPTV, video-on-demand, internet and mobile platforms. Terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
Last year, Lagardère Sports signed an exclusive deal with the ITTF to sell media rights to all its events worldwide, excluding China, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan. The agreement runs from 2016 to 2020.
