NFL American football team the Los Angeles Rams has secured a multi-year local rights deal with KCBS-TV/CBS 2, a regional television channel operated by US network CBS.
CBS 2 will broadcast live coverage of the Rams' pre-season games ahead of the 2016-17 campaign. The agreement excludes games that will be broadcast by the NFL’s national television partners.
The Rams will play the Kansas City Chiefs on August 20, the Denver Broncos on August 27 and the Minnesota Vikings on September 1.
CBS 2 will also produce and broadcast a weekly half-hour show with Rams head coach Jeff Fisher and CBS 2 sports director Jim Hill, as well as feature news about the team in its nightly ‘Sports Central’ reports.
After months of speculation, the Rams relocated from St Louis to Los Angeles in time for the start of the 2016-17 season. The team will play at the LA Coliseum before moving to a proposed new stadium in Inglewood in 2019.
