The Unidad Editorial media company and the Mediapro agency, which jointly own Marca TV, are considering closing down the Spanish digital-terrestrial sports channel, according to news website El Confidencial.
The report said that Marca TV could be replaced in the digital-terrestrial slot by shopping channel QVC from June 30.
The website added that Mediapro is in talks to sell rights for the Segunda División, the second division of football in Spain, to public-service broadcaster TVE. The rights have been exploited by Mediapro on Marca TV.
Marca TV launched in 2010, but Italian media group Grupo Rizzoli, which owns Unidad Editorial, is set to make 600 of its 800 staff in Italy redundant due to financial pressures, the report added.
