Rights to Italy’s Serie A in Spain have been acquired by the joint venture of the Mediapro agency and pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports.
Spanish news website Palco said the length of the deal is unknown but that one match per match-week will be shown via digital-terrestrial broadcaster Gol, with other matches shown on OTT service beIN Connect. For the first two match-weeks so far this season Gol has shown one match per match-week with two matches per match-week shown on beIN Connect.
Mediapro/beIN struck the Serie A deal with the IMG agency, which is distributing Serie A international rights over three seasons, from 2018-19 to 2020-21.
Two weeks ago, Palco also reported that beIN Connect will show top matches from France’s Ligue 1 in Spain.
