Modern Times Group, the multi-territory commercial and pay-television broadcaster, is to restructure its senior management team by appointing regional chief executives to lead its operations in Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
Anders Jensen will become chief executive of MTG Sweden and oversee all pay-television and free-to-air services in the country. Jensen previously served as MTG’s head of free-to-air across Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
Kim Poder has been named as chief executive of MTG Denmark, while Trygve Rønningen will head up the broadcaster’s MTG Denmark division.
MTG has also made changes to the management team that oversees its streaming and digital business.
Jonas Karlén, who previously oversaw MTG’s Nordic pay-television, has been appointed as chief executive of the broadcaster’s Viaplay live streaming service.
Rikard Steiber, MTG's chief digital officer who currently runs Viaplay, will step down from responsibility for live streaming in August, but will continue to oversee MTG’s digital operations.
Elsewhere, Jette Nygaard-Andersen has been promoted from executive vice-president to the position of chief executive of MTG’s Central European free-to-air and digital operation. He will oversee activities in the Baltic region.
In addition, Marek Singer has been named as chief executive of Prima TV, MTG’s joint venture in the Czech Republic.
Meanwhile, executive vice-president Jakob Mejlhede will retain responsibility for programming and content development, while senior vice-president Peter Nørrelund will continue to oversee sport.
