A new NBA website that has been launched in Germany by digital sports media company Perform will stream games live from basketball’s top league in North America.
The NBA.de website, which has been launched by Perform on behalf of the NBA as part of a “multi-year relationship,” will stream live coverage of one game per week throughout the regular season, playoffs and conference finals.
The website will also feature daily highlights of games and other video content, as well as editorial.
Perform said that the website is being hosted in a dedicated section within the Perform-owned Spox.com online streaming website.
“As the leading sports portal in Germany, Spox is the ideal partner to launch a new online destination for our NBA fans in Germany,” Dan Markham, the NBA’s vice-president of media distribution and emerging markets, said. “The timing could not be better to launch a fully localised digital destination for fans.”
Perform joint chief executive Oliver Slipper added: “This agreement with the NBA underlines Perform’s credentials as a key partner to major sports federations looking to bring their sports to new, digital audiences.”
