Claude Ruibal has been appointed as the executive director of the Infront Sports & Media agency’s new digital, production and sport solutions business unit.
The unit’s services will also be made available to other businesses owned by Wanda Sports Holding, including Ironman races and events in China.
Ruibal will report into Philippe Blatter, president and chief executive of Infront.
Ruibal has served in a number of key roles in the sports media industry, including most recently as global head of sports content partnerships at GoPro, and before that as global head of sports content at video-sharing website YouTube. He also worked as chairman and chief executive of US broadcaster Universal Sports Television Network.
“With today’s technological progress and high convergence, the areas of digital, production and other services cannot be managed separately anymore,” Blatter said. “The set-up of this unit allows us to align our competencies and capabilities on joint objectives and strengthen our value proposition towards clients.”
