S Nation Media, the new streaming platform being launched by Christian Seifert, former chief executive of the German Football League (DFL), and publishing house Axel Springer, has secured domestic and international broadcast rights to Germany’s Basketball Bundesliga (BBL).
The six-year deal, which will take effect in 2023-24, deals a blow to incumbent rights-holder Deutsche Telekom. It also affords S Nation Media a stronger foothold in the German market, having already tied up rights to the men’s Volleyball Bundesliga and Table Tennis Bundesliga.
