Portuguese pay-television broadcaster Sport TV has said it has secured exclusive rights to Serie A, the top division of Italian club football.
Sport TV made the announcement in a YouTube video released to coincide with yesterday’s (Tuesday) news that national team superstar Cristiano Ronaldo had agreed to join Serie A champion Juventus from Spanish LaLiga club Real Madrid. Terms of Sport TV’s deal were not disclosed.
Juventus said it has paid €112m ($130.9m) for Ronaldo (pictured), who has signed a four-year deal with the Turin club.
The move ends a hugely successful nine-year spell in Spain and sets a new Serie A transfer record.
