Italian free-to-air digital satellite television provider Tivùsat has expressed its interest in carrying live coverage of Serie A during the next broadcast rights cycle for domestic football in Italy.
One option that continues to be under assessment by Lega Serie A, the governing body of the league, is for it to launch an in-house channel to exploit the rights. In theory, Tivùsat could support such a venture by carrying the service, and Italian news agency Ansa said it has recently issued a questionnaire to its customers which includes how they would respond to a potential pay-television offering for Serie A.
