German public-service broadcaster ZDF has acquired rights to show the 2013 International Canoe Federation World Championships, which take place in Duisberg, Germany, next August and September.
The deal was agreed directly between the broadcaster and the federation.
Duisberg took over the hosting of the 2013 World Championships after Rio de Janeiro, the city originally appointed to host them, withdrew from doing so for financial reasons.
The event will take place on the weekend of August 27 to September 1. ZDF will broadcast the 2013 World Rowing Championships in South Korea the same weekend.
