Olympics: TVNZ, New Zealand’s public-service broadcaster, exercised an option to acquire the new-media rights for the 2008 Beijing Olympics in a deal with the International Olympic Committee. TVNZ is understood to have paid a nominal fee. For the 2006 Turin Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Games TVNZ is paying a total $4.6m (£2.2m/€3.2m).
