French pay-television broadcaster Canal Plus agreed a three-year deal with the Union Cycliste Internationale, the international cycling union, to televise a host of UCI events.
The agreement includes: the 2013, 2014 and 2015 editions of the Cyclo-cross World Championships; the 2012, 2013 and 2014 events of the BMX World Championships and the seasons spanning 2012-13 to 2014-15 of the Cyclo-cross World Cup. The 2012, 2013 and 2014 editions of the Mountain Bike World Cup, along with the 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14 Track Cycling World Cup are also included, with Canal Plus’s coverage of the latter having commenced in November.
Canal Plus will also present highlight magazine programmes of the 2012, 2013 and 2014 Women’s World Cup and the three editions of the Tour of Beijing.
Canal Plus will broadcast the events on a live or delayed basis in France and Monaco, as well as 47 other French-speaking territories.
