DAZN, the OTT service operated by digital sports media company Perform, has acquired rights in Canada to a host of major tournaments operated by the World Snooker sanctioning body.
The five-year deal will cover the showpiece World Snooker Championship, as well as other tournaments, such as the European Masters, the International Championship and the Champion of Champions.
DAZN will begin its live coverage of World Snooker events with the Welsh Open, which takes place from February 26 to March 6.
Fans in Canada can access coverage on a range of connected devices, including televisions, mobile and tablet devices, desktops and games consoles.
Alex Rice, managing director for rights and strategic development at DAZN, said: “In addition to broadcasting competitions, we are working with World Snooker and Snooker Canada on a range of initiatives which will get more people playing and watching the sport.”
