US cable-television broadcaster NBC Sports Network has acquired rights for the World Series of Fighting mixed martial arts series in a three-year deal, from 2013 to 2015.
NBC Sports Network will broadcast a minimum of six live events annually, starting with the series’ second event, WSOF 2, on March 23 in Atlantic City, US.
Later this year, the NBCSports.com website will begin showing live coverage of World Series of Fighting events through the TV Everywhere industry initiative, which encourages pay-television subscribers to register subscriptions online so they can access pay-television content over the internet as well as via cable or satellite television at no extra charge.
“This partnership will allow us to build the World Series of Fighting brand of world-class MMA competition before a dedicated national audience of passionate sports fans and place our athletes on the big stage that they deserve,” World Series of Fighting president Ray Sefo said.
