Norwegian public-service broadcaster NRK has acquired rights for the X Games winter sports series, according to the Kampanje news website.
The deal will run for three years, from 2013 to 2015.
Under the deal with international sports broadcaster ESPN, which operates the series, NRK will broadcast all six events per year.
“X Games has a young profile and consists of several sports that we do not often see on Norwegian television screens,” Rune Haug, the head of sports at NRK, said.
The first event in 2013 will take place in Aspen, Colorado in the US, from January 24-27, with the series then staging events in France, Brazil, Spain and Germany before returning to the US for the final event of the year in Los Angeles from August 1-4.
