Norwegian commercial and pay-television broadcaster TV2 has struck a deal to acquire rights for the next two editions of the International Cycling Union (UCI) Road World Championships, according to the Procycling.no news website.
According to the story, the sublicensing agreement with pay-television broadcaster Viasat still requires the approval of the UCI, which it said should be ratified in the coming weeks.
The rights cover the 2015 and 2016 Road World Championships in Richmond, US and Doha, Qatar.
Last year, Viasat outbid TV2 and pan-European sports broadcaster Eurosport for the rights to the Road World Championships.
