Uefa ‘to scale’ back Euro 2028 qualifying over broadcasters’ concerns, Čeferin seeks new term

Uefa is reportedly planning to reduce the size of qualifying groups for Euro 2028 due to a downturn in interest from broadcasters.

Under the proposal, which The Times said was set out at a meeting of Uefa’s member associations in Frankfurt ahead of yesterday’s (Sunday’s) qualifying draw for Euro 2024, there will be groups of four or five countries, instead of the current five or six.
