The 2013 Tour of Britain will be broadcast in the UK on both free-to-air digital channel ITV4 and British Eurosport, the UK arm of pan-regional broadcaster Eurosport, organisers of the cycling race have confirmed.

Spanish public-service broadcaster TVE has signed a three-year extension to its broadcast rights deal for the Vuelta a España, in an agreement which covers the 2014, 2015 and 2016 editions of the cycle race.

Tour de France organiser Amaury Sports Organisation (ASO) has renewed its deal to distribute the international television rights of the Tour Down Under for its next three editions, from 2014 to 2016.

Australian public-service broadcaster SBS has agreed a 10-year deal for the exclusive rights to broadcast the Tour de France cycling event until 2023.

SweetSpot, the current organiser and commercial rights-holder for cycling’s Tour of Britain, is in a head-to-head battle with the Fast Track agency for the contract from 2014.

FOOTBALL Football: Fifa, football’s global governing body, agreed deals in Spain for the 2014 World Cup with commercial broadcaster Mediaset and the Mediapro agency.

The IMG Media agency has been appointed by the Grands Prix Cyclistes de Québec et de Montréal (GPCQM) organisation to distribute the media rights for the 2013 editions of cycling’s UCI WorldTour one-day races in Québec City and Montréal in Canada.

The Infront Sports & Media agency will distribute the international media rights for cycling’s Tour de Suisse from 2015 onwards.
