College Sport: US cable sports network ESPN signed an eight-year multimedia and sponsorship rights deal, from 2008-09 to 2015-16, with the Big 12 college sports conference. The deal, thought to be worth around $480m (£240m/€353m), gives ESPN an expanded package of men’s basketball and other sports. Sister channel ABC will show up to 19 live Big 12 football matches per season, including the conference championship.
