Motorsport: The Disney-owned ABC network extended its rights deal for the Indy Car Series with rights-holders the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Indy Car Series for a further six years, from 2013 to 2018. ABC’s coverage is being expanded to include live streaming from onboard cameras to be made available to ESPN3 subscribers. It will continue to broadcast five races per season from the series, including the Indy 500. ABC’s current four-year contract expires in 2012. ABC’s sister channel, sports broadcaster ESPN, holds the highlights rights for the ABC races in both the current and future contracts.
