World Snooker has completed a three-year deal for its rights in Australia with the international pay-television broadcaster Eurosport.
The deal, running from 2018-19 to 2020-21, includes 17 World Snooker tournaments, including all Triple Crown events and all four Home Nations Series events.
Eurosport already broadcasts World Snooker events in 54 European markets as part of its 10-season deal, from 2016-17 to 2025-26.
IMG advised on both deals, and has a commission-based “lifetime deal” with World Snooker, to distribute the worldwide media rights of all events.
Earlier this week, Eurosport also picked up rights in 54 European and 16 Asia-Pacific markets for International Judo Federation events, for three years, from 2018 to 2020.
