Greek pay-television broadcaster OTE paid an increased fee in last week’s renewal for rights to the MotoGP motorcycling series.

The MP & Silva agency said that its deal earlier this month for the FIM Superbike World Championship in Latin America, excluding Brazil, and the Caribbean, was part of a strategy to expand into the region and into motorsports generally.

Dorna WSBK, the commercial rights holder of motorcycling’s Superbike World Championship, has agreed a five-year media rights deal with the MP & Silva agency covering all territories in Latin America and the Caribbean, excluding Brazil.

Eurosport France, the French arm of pan-regional broadcaster Eurosport, has agreed a three-year contract extension to be the exclusive broadcaster of the MotoGP motorcycling series in the French territory until the end of the 2017 season.

Australian commercial broadcaster Ten and pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports have agreed two-year extensions to their rights deals for the MotoGP motorcycling championship.

German pay-television broadcaster Sky Deutschland and commercial broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 are interested in acquiring rights to the MotoGP motorcycling series, according to the Speedweek.com website.
